Every year Philoptochos organizes, participates and supports many philanthropic endeavors, activities and projects that help individuals, families and organizations, spiritually and financially, always with discretion, courtesy and kindness.
We are highly active in providing aid to those in need, as well as supporting many charitable organizations.
The following are some of our Outreach efforts
● Annual Christmas Angel Tree
● Feed the Hungry at Penn Station in New York
● St. Basil’s Academy Children Christmas gifts and graduation gifts
● Offer Graduation Awards to the students of our Parish Schools
● Various Drives – Diaper Drive, Personal Care Drive, Shoe Drive, Dignity Drive –
● Assist our Church and schools when needed
● Donated the Icon of the “Blind Man” for the Chapel
● Participated in the “Adopt a Family – Feed our Neighbors” Initiative by the Neighborhood Housing Services of Queens
● Donated to Cherry Valley Supermarket in Corona, NY to help shop for families
● Participated in the “Stewards of Creation Project” where we planted a garden outside of our church and named it Garden of Hope
